L1850 Engine Fall Protection System (In Progress)
Before: Unprotected open edges & areas when panels are removed
After: Set of guardrails for both sides of the engine
Problem
The engine replacement on the loaders (L1850) involves the removal of the panels and accessories around the engine. However, this also expose maintainers to the risk of falls because they do not have any sort of guard rails or barriers around the engine.
Solution
A set of guardrails for the left and right side will be fabricated to prevent people falling from the engine bay when panels are removed. These guard rails will be removable and mounted to the existing mount points of the chassis.
